In Gloucester today! Gloucester is a lovely place, made particularly special by the fact that it's got an amazing cathedral which was the filming site of a lot of the first two, and sixth Harry Potter movies! I might've been completely out of my mind with excitement. There aren't words to describe how cool it was, so pictures will have to suffice:
 |
One thousand years ago this was a monastery (not harry potter related) |
 |
Apostles lining the entrance to the Cathedral |
 |
Hogwarts corridor in Philosophers Stone, Chamber of Secrets, and Half-blood Prince |
 |
:) |
 |
In half-blood prince, Harry and Ron stood on this ledge laughing at the first years getting lost, and later Malfoy stood on it while getting told off by Snape |
 |
Where the water spread from Moaning Myrtle's bathroom in Chamber of Secrets |
 |
"Enemies of the Heir, beware" so cool |
 |
Apparently this man's face, in addition to being rather funny, is featured in half blood prince |
 |
This was where the monks washed their hands, and it was on one of the posters for the 6th movie! |

ReplyDeleteWow very cool

ReplyDeleteHi Lina, I agree!
DeleteHi Sarah it is Aidan from ms.cotters class,

Exspelliarmus!! ,
Aidan
Hi Aidan!
DeleteIt's always nice to meet a fellow Harry Potter fan! I'm very jealous of your wands, they sound beautiful! I highly recommend reading the books, if you liked the movies, they are really wonderful!
To Sara
ReplyDeleteI like Harry Potter to (that is until the third movie)
Seem's like you are still having fun
From Cassidy
Hi Cassidy,
DeleteI'm glad you enjoy Harry as well, why did you not like the third movie? I am still having a ton of fun!
To Sarah
ReplyDeleteThat's so cool!! How do you know that where you sat was where Harry potter was when they filmed!
Good question! One of the ladies who worked in the cathedral (the one in the picture pointing at the floor, who looks kind of like Madame Hooch) was there when they were filming and told me about it!
DeleteWas it fun from Ryan
ReplyDeleteHi Sarah it is Melissa I was wondering what is your favorite movie ? Mine is chamber of secrets
ReplyDeleteHi Melissa!
DeleteThe Chamber of Secrets is a great one, but I think my favourite would have to be the Order of the Pheonix
Hi its Olivia is Harry potter your favorite book?I here that you love fantsay books.I love them too.
ReplyDeleteHi Olivia! I have lots of favourite books, but the Harry Potter series definitely makes the top ten. Fantasy is my favourite genre, I'm glad you like them too!
DeleteI love the Harry Potter movies and books. I have read all the books and I have watched the first 4 movies! They are my favourite movies too! I would LOVE to go there to see the place where some of Harry Potter was filmed. Which movie is your favourite?
ReplyDeleteP.S I am Mateo
Hi Mateo! It's great to hear from such an enthusiastic Harry fan! I think that I'd have to say that the Order of the Pheonix is both my favourite book and movie of the series. It's the fifth, so if you've seen the first four, it should be next on your list!
DeleteHi Sarah this is Yuval from mrs.cotter classroom I was wondering what is your favourite spell?
ReplyDeleteHi Yuval!
DeleteWhat a great question! I would have to say that my favourite spell is the Patronus charm (Expecto Patronum). I like it because the user has to think happy thoughts in order for it to work (and I do enjoy thinking happy thoughts), and it banishes all of the dark creatures. I also love that it takes the form of an animal that means a lot to you! I'd like to think that mine would be a lion, like Aslan from Narnia
Can you buy some Harry Potter's wand? In the shop?
ReplyDeleteLina
Hi Lina,
DeleteSadly there were no wands for sale, as it was a cathedral. But I'll be on the look out for a wand shop throughout my travels, and will let you know if I find one!
I Wish I could see hog warts and what is your favourite Harry potter movie. From Sam.
ReplyDeleteHI Sam,
DeleteI also wish I could see hogwarts very much, and my favourite movie/book is the Order of the Pheonix
To:Sarah,
ReplyDeleteIt must of been very exciting to see the cathedral.About how many square feet is the whole building? You looked REALLY happy to be sitting on the same ledge that Harry, Ron and Malfoy stood on.
From: Maddy :)
Hi Maddy,
DeleteI don't know the exact square footage of the cathedral, but it was very very large. And I was incredibly happy!
Who is your favourite character in Harry Potter and why?
ReplyDeleteWhat is your favourite Harry Potter movie? Why?
From Natasha Div.5
Hi Natasha,
DeleteMy favourite character is Hermoine Granger, because she is intelligent, but also brave and kind, and because she loves books, learning, and school almost as much as I do! My favourite movie is the fifth because I thought that it had the most interesting story line, and was one of the most exciting and emotional. Good questions! I liked how you didn't just ask who or what, but also asked why!
From Kyle the one before Ryan up above
ReplyDeleteIt's Mya. Your so lucky! O.M.G! I love Harry potter! I would do eneything to be there!
