Hello friends, guess where I am!! I'll give you a clue, it's green and gorgeous, and everyone is happy and friendly and wonderful (not the emerald city of oz...)
So I'm having a pretty darn fantastic time. I can't wait to tell you all about it, but first things first, I have to bring you up to speed on the end of my English adventures
So I left you in Gloucester. The day I was set to leave they had the first big snow fall of the season- about two inches. Anyone in Montreal or Nova Scotia reading this will agree that it's pretty much nothing. But to seemingly all of the United Kingdom, it was cause for world wide alarm. Two inches of snow and I swear they shut down the whole country. Ferrys were cancelled, flights were stopped, schools and roads and businesses closed down. It was the weirdest thing ever. I always associated England with a ton of snow, but apparently that's not the case, at least not in the London/Glouster/Wales areas. Regardless, my train magically seemed to be the only one still running (though delayed) and I managed a rather long, extremely cold trip to chester

Like Robin Hood. Made me so happy. |

Some not-so-great photos of the pretty snowy English country-side. |
So now I've arrived in lovely Chester. The town was wonderful, all old black and white Victorian-era houses and shops, with it's 1000 year old Roman roots still evident in the ruins of the wall, colleseum, and old bathhouse. It was very very cool. The people who I was staying with (Aunt and Uncle of my cousins), were absolutely amazing! We got on so well, and they were perfectly wonderful tour guides. Unfortunately my outdoor photos are limited, as it snowed pretty much the entire time I was there and I didn't want to risk getting my camera wet, but there are a couple to give you a taste!

Nicest little spot for reading
Alrighty folks, so that was a little taste of Chester fun. I've loads more to tell/show you, but I've also got places to be tomorrow morning, and so have to head to bed. Tomorrow or the next day I will tell you all about my spontaneous adventures in Dublin, and my crazy first night in Limerick. |
